Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since spring of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my children at once, so to win a title is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.

Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, supported by an better serve.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players traded break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.

The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner earned the win with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
